Support CAPS
Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded through the generosity of foundation and corporate grants, legislative appropriations and private donations. Additional funds are raised through a series of special events and from the sale of merchandise available in the CAPS Store. It is only with the support of concerned members of the community like you that everyone at CAPS can continue working together to keep every child safe from harm.

There are several ways you can support CAPS:

Gifts to CAPS can be made to honor or remember a loved one, a friend or even a special occasion. When making your donation, let us know the name, address, e-mail and/or telephone information of the person(s) you wish to notify of the tribute so that we may let them know a gift has been made in their name. CAPS will keep the amount of the gift confidential.

Matching Gifts
Many employers have matching gift programs that will increase the value of your contribution to CAPS. Check with your company's Human Resources department to find out if your company will match your gift to CAPS.

Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities may offer substantial tax advantages to you, including the forgiveness of the tax on capital gain and an income-tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the security. If you itemize your federal income deductions, you also may receive a federal income tax charitable deduction (up to 30 % of your adjusted gross income with a five-year carryover) for the security's full fair market value, if you have held it for longer than 12 months. Talk it over with your financial advisor; then, if you're ready to make a gift of securities to CAPS, call us at 516-621-0552 to get information on the proper procedures.
