The Community
It Takes a Village to Keep Every Child Safe from Harm
Since 1982, CAPS has relied on a large community of concerned individuals, corporations, foundations and legislators willing to give of themselves, in some way, to enable us to continue to reach our goals and spread the messages of bully, child abuse and neglect prevention and the importance of child safety education for school-age children.
Our dedicated volunteer corps as well as CAPS’ supporters enable us to continue to offer our classroom child abuse prevention programs to all Long Island public and private schools at no cost.
For close to three decades, we’ve seen how effective these empowerment programs can be to help school-age children recognize abuse, and come forward to talk to a trusted adult—before the situation at home, in school, or online escalates.
Ultimately, it’s up to all of us to step up, in some productive way, to help ensure our children’s safety.
